Welcome to the website of the Doug Grad Literary Agency, Inc. The agency opened for business on May 1, 2008, after Doug had spent the previous twenty-two years as a senior editor at four major New York publishing houses. Throughout his career, Doug was always an author’s advocate--the kind of editor authors wanted to work with again and again because of his keen eye, integrity, and talent for developing projects. He was also a skillful negotiator, sometimes to the chagrin of literary agents. Now, he's excited to bring those experiences to the other side of the table, and to offer publishers the kind of high-quality fiction and nonfiction that he himself was proud to publish.

Query by email letter first at query@dgliterary.com. Be sure to include the word "query" in the subject line.

Please include a brief synopsis and biography explaining what the book is and who you are.

Please do not include or attach any sample material to the query, unless we ask you first.

Your patience is greatly appreciated. The agency receives many queries every day and our time is limited--our first priority is to our clients and their work.

Current turnaround times:

For query responses, up to ten weeks.

For partial or full manuscript responses, up to sixteen weeks.
