JACK BE NIMBLE
Jake Chance

Mystery

Alan Ford, an Iraqi war vet-turned Hollywood screenwriter, soon finds himself on the run after being falsely accused of gruesomely murdering his old friend, a big-shot film agent.  Although relentlessly pursued by law enforcement, Ford is bent on clearing his name and taking down the real killers.

Trying to lay low, he changes his name to Jack Dart in order to scam his way into working for InZone, a San Francisco-based public relations company.  Staffed by a hilariously clueless, yet cutthroat group, and led by ex-bodybuilder and nightclub crooner, Don D’Ammano, Jack is given three left-for-dead accounts to work on--Torch, the very talented, yet damaged chanteuse, the Grossout, a seedy nightclub, and Isadore Cohen, a brilliant professor who claims to have developed a pill that will provide serenity for even the most frenzied of individuals.  Needless to say, a lot of very bad people are after the good professor as well.

Author Bio

Chance, a nom de plume, has been in the enviable position as a New York Times best-selling author.  Under the name Jerry Carroll, he wrote Top Dog (Ace Books/1996) which hit the Times list.  Carroll, also a Pulitzer Prize-nominated journalist for his work with the San Francisco Chronicle, went on to write the critically acclaimed and prize-winning Inhuman Beings (1998) and Dog Eat Dog (1999) for Ace Books as well.

Jake Chance is currently at work on the sequel to JACK BE NIMBLE.  Naturally, it is titled JACK BE QUICK and will continue to follow the exploits of Alan Ford (aka Jack Dart).
